Gallarate - GROW29

The project focuses on three main strategic objectives:

• Sustainable urban regeneration: redeveloping degraded and inadequate urban spaces, making them more energy efficient and creating the conditions for economic revitalisation;
• Reducing inequality and poverty: combating the socio-economic divide by offering opportunities for growth to all citizens, particularly the most vulnerable groups;
• Strengthening social inclusion: creating an urban environment where people feel part of the community, promoting economic participation and intergenerational exchange.

To achieve these objectives, GROW29 is divided into three main areas of intervention:

1. School and citizenship: investing in new, modern, efficient and safe school facilities. Promoting educational innovation and combating early school leaving. Creating opportunities for interaction and intergenerational transfer of skills.
2. Living in the city: redeveloping public housing and social housing facilities. Increasing green infrastructure connections, such as cycle paths and underpasses.
3. Local social and health networks: expanding services and strengthening social functions. Creating a meeting place for associations and social services. Converting public spaces into centres for citizenship and local economic development.
